Bruno Mars Nominated For An Emmy?

What up, Hooligans?

Anybody else hear this rumor about Bruno being nominated for another Emmy?

Well, apparently, @KathyNicholas tweeted saying:

"Uptown Funk on Ellen has nominated for an Emmy!!! @MarkRonson @BrunoMars so awesome! Congrats guys!!" (https://mobile.twitter.com/KathyNicholas/status/713090902755905536)

And @BrunoMars tweeted back:

"That would be awesome to win. Then I can go by that young Emmy award winning Brunz... Ya Feel me doe?"  (https://mobile.twitter.com/BrunoMars?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor)

Now, personally, I haven't been able to find any other source to confirm this yet; but, it would be really cool if it were true!

Honestly, in my, albeit biased, opinion, every version of Uptown Funk that Bruno has done so far is (some kind of) award worthy! ...

on SNL!

Here's Bruno performing one of my favorite
versions of  "Uptown Funk" on The Voice!  The man
showed up in curlers!  What's not to love?!

Bruno Mars is "too hot!"!  They really did
have to call "the fireman"!

... Duh!

And the particular performance in question, the one that he did on Ellen (barring his most recent Super Bowl 50 performance) was his coolest and funkiest yet!

So, here's hoping this exciting rumor turns out to be true; we'll have to wait and see! ... Hopefully not for too long, though ... I mean, "There's only so many songs I can sing to pass the time."
"... Ya Feel me doe?"

A Brief Super Bowl XLVIII Recap (2014) !

Bruno Mars' Super Bowl XLVIII
Halftime Show performance

Hey out there, Hooligans!

After Super Bowl 50’s FABULOUS (... at least all the Bruno parts were fabulous!) Halftime Show … it seems like the best time for a little factual review of Bruno Mars’ past, Halftime performance!
...
On February 2nd, 2014, Bruno headlined for Super Bowl XLVIII’s MARVELOUS - What Else?! - Halftime Show,

and was accompanied by the Musical Group, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

(Although, to this day, I still don’t understand why!  The Vegetables in question only served to leave a bad taste in the mouth of viewers, and anyway Bruno’s hot enough as it is … “TOO hot”, in fact!).

At 28, Bruno ruled the Football field with the remarkable distinction of being the youngest Headliner for a Super Bowl Halftime Show!

In addition, his 15 minute reign made Halftime History as he drew record views of 115.3 million!!, surpassing all previous performers not the least of which was Madonna (Super Bowl XLVI, which drew 114 million views)  and Beyonce  (Super Bowl XLVII, which drew 110.8 million) ... proving to be the best the Sporting World had viewed to date and OFFICIALLY setting the standard for any and all future Halftime performances!

The Show’s incredibly well-received song set, which included Mars’ hit Singles, “Billionaire”, “Run Away Baby”, “Locked out of Heaven”, “Treasure”, and “Just the Way You Are”, would later go on to earn an Emmy Nomination, thereby cementing its supreme position in the field of live Television performances, at the highest scale available to it!

As a final note, (it absolutely has to be mentioned) the drum solo in the beginning was ridiculously cool!

And to end the show center field, single spotlight, with a song like "Just the way you are" ... funking genius!!  Seriously bold, completely unexpected and totally brill!

Bruno Mars Takes Home Grammy For Record Of The Year!

Bruno Mars wins Record of the Year!

It's about Funking Time!

February 15th, 2016 ...

It was the end of the night at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards; and, once again, the time had come to see who would win the biggest, most sought after award of the night, Record Of The Year.

Beyonce presenting the award for
Record of the Year at The 58th Annual
Grammy Awards!

Beyonce (!!) herself took the stage to present this prestigious award to one of these five nominees:

"Uptown Funk" - Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars

"Really Love" - D'Angelo and the Vanguard

"Thinking Out Loud" - Ed Sheeran

"Blank Space" - Taylor Swift

"Can't Feel My Face" - The Weeknd

<Whew!> What a lineup!

My tension level was, of course, ridiculously high!

I was going through all the normal (for me, anyway) seriously-stressed-out Stages of Emotion:  curled up in my chair, clutching my blanket  (and my poor little dog!), holding my breath, biting my nails, curling my toes!

"And The Grammy goes to ... "

This is It!  The Big Moment!! <thinking to myself> "Oh, I can't take it. Why is it so funking silent?!  (For my own sake, I should just turn my TV off and Google it later.) Ugh, why isn't Beyonce saying anything?! Who is it?  Who is it?!"

... then, suddenly, the silence was broken and the tension was put into high gear as the ever-confident (nerve shattering-ly so at this particular moment) Bruno Mars shouted from the audience, "Let's go, Beyonce!  Let's do it!  Let's do it!"

Bruno shouting from the audience,
"Let's go, Beyonce!  Let's do it!  Let's do it!"

Well!  If I wasn't stressed before I was certainly falling apart then (Thanks for that, Bruno!)!! <thinking to myself> "Yeah!  Uptown Funk is totally gonna win! ... Wait a minute, it will win, right?  'Cause if it doesn't, at this point, that's gonna be really really bad!  C'mon, Beyonce (echoing Bruno's request) Let's do it!  JUST SAY IT ALREADY!!"

Then, in a moment that seemed almost to good to be true, a moment that we hooligans have been waiting for since November 2014, Beyonce read, "Uptown Funk!"

Yyyeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!   < leaping up from my chair, jumping up and down, keeping a firm grip on my little dog (who does not like it when I jump up and down) >Yes!  Yes!  YES!!

I mean, c'mon, this has been a long time coming!

For starters, the song completely missed the 2015 Grammy Awards! ... Granted, that was due to the fact that the song was released on November 10th 2014, which placed it just outside of the "eligibility year" (October 1st, 2013 through September 30th, 2014).  Nevertheless, it was aggravating.

Then came the following (notable) award shows, The Billboard Awards, where it was nominated one time (Top Digital Song), The MTV VMA Awards, where it was nominated five times (Best Direction, Best Collaboration, Best Pop Video, Best Male Video, and Video of the Year.), and The AMA Awards, where it was nominated two times (Collaboration of the Year and Song of the Year).  All together that's eight nominations.  And, while Uptown Funk should have been a shoo-in for each of these awards, it only won one (VMA for Best Male Video)!

One win out of eight nominations??!!

What the funk, people?!

Uptown funk is one of the coolest, grooviest, can't-help-but-move-to-it songs ever!

It's been called "The official song of 2015"!

It is (in my opinion) one of the biggest, most notable songs of this decade (at least!)!!

It's tied (with artists such as Elton John, Black Eyed Peas, Witney Houston, etc,) as the second highest spot for "Most Weeks At Number One" on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart!

And suddenly people started treating it like the McDonalds to Taylor Swift's Burger King (That is to say, The absolute best; but, for some reason people won't say so)!!

<slowing breathing, calming down> I'm just saying, Uptown Funk! is absolutely deserving of this award and I'm just so super-freaking psyched that it won!

Also, "Record Of The Year" (while the most important) wasn't the only Grammy that Uptown Funk took home this year.  Uptown Funk Also won the Grammy for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance"!!

After the Grammys ended, an elated Bruno sent the following Pic (below) on his Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/p/BB19QV3O8xK/?taken-by=brunomars) with the caption, "WE DID IT!!!!"

Yes, you did, Bruno!  You certainly did!

Bruno Mars Confirms His Super Bowl 50 Appearance!

Bruno's (Long-Awaited)

Confirmation of His

Super Bowl 50 Appearance

Is Here!!

What up, Hooligans?

So, I would guess that you’ve all heard by now that, according to Wikipedia, the one and only Bruno Mars, while not headlining, will be performing live at the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show as part of a three-prong extravaganza that is also set to include fellow Artist, Beyonce, and which WILL be headlined by Coldplay (… So STUPID, but whatevs! … At least the Brunz is coming!).

Now, this latest bit of information, albeit terribly (TERRIBLY!) exciting, was ONLY found via Super Bowl 50's Wikipedia page and, being of rather a cynical nature (and a COMPLETE and total Bruno fan … atic!) I have since been, relentlessly, searching through any and ALL other Media Outlets at my current disposal for any kind of additional confirmation (no matter how small!).

Well, as fellow Bruno Fans, it probably comes as no great surprise to any of you that, despite weeks of scanning COUNTLESS articles and a regrettable amount of mental downloads containing more Sports information than I honestly would have cared to gain in an entire LIFETIME, I came back up with Zilch! … Nada! … Nothing! … A total Bruno BUST, if you will!

(Certainly a Discouraging Endeavor, to say the least!)

But now, (FINALLY!) the very confirmation that I been so desperately looking for is here!!

(And it comes, mind you, from the very BEST Source!) …

… Bruno Mars HIMSELF has (via his Instagram page  https://www.instagram.com/p/BBa3Z8Eu81A/?taken-by=brunomars ) commented on the subject  …

"Mars Has Landed"

“It ain’t a party if Mr. $how Up and $how Out doesn’t show up.
#Confirmed #SB50 #Halftime #Coldpaly #Beyonce #TheBrunz #Shwaaaggg"

ALRIGGGHT!!  Now we are talking, Bruno!!

(<Ahhhhhh!> I cannot WAIT!)

I mean, not only does this latest Tweet go through the trouble of PERSONALLY (<Delighted squeal!> … Sorry!) confirming Bruno’s 2016 Super Bowl performance; but, it also maybe hints that, while there,  he will be stylin’, wilin', and living it up in the city (… or Stadium, in this case!) while singing “Uptown Funk!”!!

<Clapping hands together while jumping up and down> WHOO-HOO!!  Yeah, you go, Bruno!  Funk ‘em up!!
