Close, But No Billboard!

Aw, nuts!

Well, Hooligans, another year, another Billboard  Music Awards.  ... No win for Bruno though and, can I just say, not only does that suck (!), but, it's CRAZY as well!  The nominations were for "Uptown Funk" ... Hello?!  Duh!  It should've been a shoo-in!!  Like I said, "nuts!"

Oh, well.  Whatevs!  What do they know, anyway? ... <Drumming Fingers> Still bummed, though.

On a bright note, apparently, not winning did not stop Bruno from enjoying the festivities!  Ever the consummate good sport, Bruno took to twitter and commented on Rihanna's Performance ... (https://twitter.com/BrunoMars)

What up, Hooligans?

For those of you keeping up with this blog, you'll remember a few posts back where I commented on the possibility of Bruno Mars being nominated for an Emmy (http://aboutbrunomars.blogspot.com/2016/03/bruno-mars-nominated-for-emmy.html) ...

Well, as it turns out, the rumors were true!  Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' were indeed nominated for an Emmy at the 43rd Daytime Emmy Awards (which took place on May 1st, 2016) for "Outstanding Musical Performance in A Talk Show/Morning Program"!

Nominated, but didn't win.  ... <Frustrated Groan!> Seriously?!

Ugh!  Whatever!!  They may not have won, but the nomination is still, obviously, incredible!  (So there!) 

And also so deserved!  That particular, nominated performance of the song (on Ellen) was espespecially enjoyable, with the slight change in choreography (in relation to its previous performances) was <ahem>  too hot (!) and yet, simply oozed with cool!!  Bruno, Mark, and the Hooligans absolutely killed it!  "Don't believe me?  Just watch!"  Check out the video, below, and see for yourself!  Courtesy of TheEllenShow 's official YouTube channel!

Uptown Funk Nominated At The 2016 Billboard Music Awards!

What up, Hooligans?

 Just a few short short days until the 2016 Billboard Music Awards!

"Uptown Funk" is nominated, as you all know, in two categories, "Top Radio Song" and "Top Streaming Song (Video)".

However, what you may not know; and, if you're anything like me, will be extremely shocked, appalled, and distressed to find out, is that (according to Wikipedia), Bruno, since 2011 has consistently been a multiple nominee each year.  He has a total of 26 nominations in all; BUT, he's only ever won ONE time (2011, Top Radio Song - "Just the Way You Are")!!

Is that crazy?! To say the least!! I mean, c'mon! Bruno funking Mars, has only won 1 time out of 26 nominations in 6 years?!! What is the world coming to? Honestly, I'm just, as I said, shocked, appalled, and (extremely!) distressed!!

Anyhoo, besides being a multiple nominee for six years in a row, (which is, by itself, pretty cool!)  Bruno has kicked @$$ in the Billboard department in some other ways as well ...

In 2013, along with being a 4-time nominee, Bruno performed that (in my opinion) rather excellent performance of his song "Treasure".

It was absolutely brilliant!  It was, without question, the highlight of the evening; it received excellent reviews; and, to this day, remains my all time favorite version of the song!

Bit of trivia ... The official video for Treasure was actually shot the day after Bruno performed at the Billboard Music Awards! ... Cool, right?

 Also In 2013, Bruno was named Billboard's Artist of the Year!

And one more "Huh?!"-fact, The Billboard Music Awards were not held from the year 2007 - 2010 ... Weird, right?

• I love, love LOVE the song "Rest of My Life" but, (I think) Bruno recorded it an awfully long time ago when he was younger and he sounds quite a bit different than he does nowadays; so, I've always hoped that he would sing it again so I could hear it in his current voice/style.
